NZLLA conference 2025 - Conference convenor and Conference committee
10 Apr 2024
The NZLLA National Executive is pleased to announce that we intend to hold our 2025 bi-ennial conference in Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau with the intention of it being in August/September as is traditional for our Association.
We are looking for a Conference Convenor and Conference Committee. Come along and join Claire Dowling (Treasurer and Immediate Past-Convenor) and Louise Bailey (Vice President and previous Convenor) on the Committee. We especially seek members who are not in the National Executive. It is a wonderful way to meet more people and be actively involved in the Association. Plus it doesn’t hurt to talk about it on LinkedIn :)
The Conference Convenor and Committee will be responsible for the following tasks in 2024:
• Setting the date;
• Arranging the venue; and
• Sending a “save the date” to members and vendor sponsor partners.
In 2025:
• Organising catering;
• Selecting a theme;
• Setting a budget including fees and sponsorship requests;
• Arranging conference logo/branding and any associated merchandise (goodie bags etc.);
• Arranging speakers including a call for papers and assessing any submissions;
• Working with vendor sponsor partners;
• Providing content for the NZLLA conference website.
Running the Conference is a rewarding and time consuming task. This your chance to put your own spin on the Conference and we really look forward to seeing what you can do with it.
If this feels intimidating or you have questions email me and I’ll do my best to answer them. You can also read the 2023, 2021, and 2019 (and more) conference reports in the member documents area of our website to get a feel for what is involved.
I will transfer access of the NZLLA Conference Gmail account to the next Convenor for their use.
Do come and join us.
Claire
