• The GlobaLex site Researching the New Zealand Law gives a good overview of the structure of the New Zealand legal system.
• The online book Essential Legal Research Skills in Aotearoa New Zealand explains how to research New Zealand law and legal information along with referencing using the New Zealand Law Style Guide.
• The Law Manual Online is written by Community Law gives information on understanding the law across a range of legal topics. It is aimed to empower everyday people to understand their rights under New Zealand law.
• Free access to legislation and cases can be found on the New Zealand Legislation website, though the Courts of New Zealand website and on NZLII.

Registered legal practitioners can access the New Zealand Law Society libraries for legal research support and resources.

Academics and students at the six New Zealand University law schools should contact their university law librarian for support.
