NZLLA Scholarship Opportunity – Applications extended 

International Association of Law Librarians (IALL) Annual Course
Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom
Dates: 13 – 16 September 2026
Scholarship amount: NZD $2,000 (fixed sum)

Application deadline: 5pm, Friday 17th April

This scholarship will be paid to the successful recipient to assist with the costs of registration, air travel, and accommodation. The recipient will need to cover any remaining expenses.

Application Criteria

1. Eligibility 

  • Applicants must be current NZLLA members at the time of application and when the activity takes place
  • Members of the NZLLA National Executive may apply but cannot participate in discussions regarding the awarding of scholarships. 

 2. Judging Criteria

The selection panel will consider 

  • Commitment to NZLLA and/or law librarianship( e.g length of service in a law library, study towards a library qualification, attendance at NZLLA meetings, leadership activities, promotion of law librarianship through activities with NZLLA or other library organisations)
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received an NZLLA grant or scholarship.

We encourage applicants from those who are new to the profession!

3. Recipient Requirements 
Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Provide a written report for the NZLLA National Executive on the sessions found most relevant.
  • Present your report at one of NZLLA's monthly meetings

4. Application Process

Email your application to president@NZLLA.org.nz and include:

  • Your name
  • Full contact details including email address
  • Qualifications and work experience
  • Reason for applying and the expected benefits of attending 

5. Selection process

A panel consisting of the NZLLA President and two other National Executive members will award the scholarship. Successful applicants will be notified within one week of the closing date.
